Stadtmitte am Fluss

The quality of life in the capital of the Saarland (Saarbrücken) must clearly be improved. In the middle of the city along the river Saar, existing urban space is to be regained. A new center is to be developed instead of the noisy motorway which divides the city in two. The cooperative planning competition is embedded and strengthened by a large participatory processes. Additionally, focus groups (region, integration, economy) have been formed to treat specific questions, such as how this flagship project will radiate regionally as well as on a cross-boarder level (with France).
